Description
Pregnyl (Chorionic Gonadotropin) is a hormonal agent. It is typically used to cause ovulation and to treat infertility in women, and to increase sperm count in men. It is also used by young boys when their testicles have not dropped down into the scrotum normally. It may also have other uses.

Pregnyl (Chorionic Gonadotropin)'s dosage depends on the condition being treated. Your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a schedule that is more appropriate for you. This medication is typically used as an intramuscular (into the muscle) injection only. The powder has to be reconstituted with the diluent provided. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. WARNING: Use caution with asthma (respiratory condition causing difficulty in breathing), heart disease, migraine, renal (kidney) impairment, history of seizure disorders (abnormal brain function). In addition to its desired action, Pregnyl (Chorionic Gonadotropin) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause headaches, tiredness, irritability, swelling or water weight gain It may cause depression, breast tenderness or swelling, injection site reactions (pain, swelling, or irritation) Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to chorionic gonadotropin or any component of the formulation, precocious puberty (when a child's body begins changing into that of an adult (puberty) too soon), prostate cancer or other androgen-dependent cancer. Taking Pregnyl (Chorionic Gonadotropin) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Pregnant women should not use this product.
